David Brown is a musician from Melbourne, Australia, who has played bass guitar or guitar in a series of improvisatory ensembles from 1978 to the present day. In 1978, David Tolley, David Brown's teacher, formed False Start, with the aid of funding from the Music Board of the Australia Council. The band featured Tolley, Dure Dara, James Clayden, and Brown on bass guitar and guitar.
